More new attractions at SkiStar Stockholm Hammarbybacken: Climbing tower, Bungy Rocket and trampolines to open this summer

As part of efforts to develop Stockholm Hammarbybacken into a year-round adventure arena with fun for everyone, several new attractions such as a climbing tower, Bungy Rocket and trampolines will be introduced this summer. Several of last year's new attractions are open now for the summer season.

Last summer, Stockholm's most central ski slope and sixth SkiStar destination was transformed into an innovation hub with exciting and valued new attractions such as SkiStar's Climbing Park, SummerSki, Mountain Coaster and Moutain Tube. The next step is to open even more activities and attractions.

“We’re continuing our commitment to fun exercise and getting even more people to challenge themselves, family, friends, classmates or even colleagues by spending a full day with us. The new Stockholm Hammarbybacken means we’re making the big city a little more active and fun for anyone looking for a memorable experience. With this investment, we hope to help get more people moving all year round while enjoying the best views of Stockholm,” says Stefan Sjöstrand, CEO of SkiStar.

Here are all the new attractions this summer at SkiStar Stockholm Hammarbybacken:

    Bungy Rocket:
Get a proper kick out of our new Bungy Rocket, catapulting you from the top of Hammarby Hill about 15 metres up into the air. The view is stunning - if you dare keep your eyes open! It’s a reverse variant of bungee jumping where you take off on the ground and catapulted into the sky using strong rubber bands. From 7 years.

Climbing tower: Challenge yourself or a mate to see how high you can climb our 8 metre climbing tower. There are different grades of difficulty on the climbing faces, with eight different courses. From 7 years.

Trampolines: Jump dizzyingly high on one of our four trampolines. You’re safely strapped in to a harness attached to rubber bands and can perform tricks and jumps you might previously only dreamed of. Our trampolines are called Bungy Trampolines and you can try out everything you wish you’d done on a regular trampoline. From 3 years.

    Attractions as from summer 2023:

SkiStar SummerSki: for anyone who can’t get enough of snow skiing in the winter, or just want to have a go, here’s the chance for summer skiing on nearly 9,000 sq. m. of man-made grass designed to mimic the feeling of snow. The material is made from partially recycled plastic. There’s also a summer variant of the SkiStar Snow Park with a number of features such as rails and boxes designed by SkiStar ambassador: freeskier and Olympic medallist Jesper Tjäder. There’s also a beginner's area which is easily accessible, including a treadmill.

SkiStar Mountain Coaster: our own coaster variant. 800 metres down the mountain on rails! A fast-paced 40 kph ride attraction that hopefully offers adrenaline, laughter and wonderful views.

SkiStar Mountain Tube: slide down the mountain on rubber rings via two different tracks, adapted for the whole family and a guaranteed thrill.

SkiStar Climbing Park: a success for young and old alike. Climb about 80 metres above the city, includes seven high-altitude slopes, a 60 metre obstacle course and a 100 metre zip line.

Other activities: run training, hiking, outdoor exercise and ski rentals are also available on site, as well as catering.

    Tickets and opening hours
The climbing park reopened for the season on April 10, and on May 4 last year’s new attractions Mountain Coaster and Moutain Tube followed. SummerSki opens on May 18 and this year’s new attractions are scheduled to open on June 12. Pre-booking for the climbing park is required and buying tickets when booking any activity is simple in the SkiStar app or at skistar.com.
