SkiStar Hemsedal: Hemsedal extends the ski season!

SkiStar Hemsedal: Hemsedal extends the ski season!

Due to large quantities of snow, Hemsedal has decided to extend the ski season by one weekend. This year you can ski and snowboard until Sunday 11 May at Hemsedal Skisenter.

Hemsedal can report an unusually good winter with large quantities of snow on the slopes and ground. There is in fact so much snow that Hemsedal Skisenter has decided to extend the season by one weekend, until Sunday 11 May.

- With all this lovely snow it would be a shame to close as early as 4 May, says Destination Manager Andreas Smith-Erichsen at SkiStar Hemsedal. We now have so much snow that we can be sure of a great ski product far beyond the normal season. That's why we have decided to extend the season by a week.

This is good news for all those who think that the bare ground season is too long. Hemsedal had originally planned to end its ski season on 4 May, but is adding a 'bonus weekend' with open lifts, slopes, parks and outdoor activities from 9 to 11 May.

The extra weekend is included for all those with season passes, and other skiers will pay excellent prices for their SkiPasses. Hemsedal aims to keep most of the slopes, parks and lifts open. Park events, full-blown après-ski and open bars and restaurants are planned in both Hemsedal Skisenter and Hemsedal town centre.

The traditional 1 May Festival (closing festival) will be held as planned on the weekend of 2 and 3 May, with concerts on the ski slopes and at bars and restaurants as well as competitions and events throughout Hemsedal.

Hemsedal Skisenter is open daily from 09.00–16.30 until 4 May, and then on Friday 9 May, Saturday 10 May and Sunday 11 May.
