Seafood from Norway hosted an Inspiration Day for the esteemed winners of this year’s National Fish & Chip Awards (NF&CA) alongside some of this year’s shortlisted Young Fish Friers of the Year, celebrating the successes of the wider industry and exploring innovative thinking around the future of fish and chips.

One of the UK’s top emerging chef talents and a group of international key food influencers have visited Norway, the seafood nation, on an inspirational study trip organised by the Norwegian Seafood Council. Discovering why origin matters when it comes to sustainable seafood while getting a taste of the fjord to plate journey of the celebrated Norwegian seafood.

Close to 200 leading stakeholders from across the seafood industry united on 27th February for the 2024 Norway-UK Seafood Summit. The event, which is firmly cementing itself as an important date in industry calendars, led with bilateral updates from the Norwegian Minister for Fisheries and Ocean Policy, Cecilie Myrseth, and the UK Minister for Food, Farming and Fisheries, Rt Hon Mark Spencer.

Proud ocean nations unite at the Norway-UK Seafood Summit with a shared agenda to increase sustainable seafood consumption.

The Norway-UK Seafood Summit, organised by the Norwegian Seafood Council, returned to Fishmonger's Hall, London, on 27 February 2023, following a two-year break due to the pandemic. The Summit drew nearly 200 stakeholders from the seafood sector and related industries, where the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen and develop seafood trade, with sustainability in mind.

Fish and Chip Champions To Head To Norway For Sustainable Fishing Adventure Aboard Østerfjord

Seafood From Norway today announced that all winners of the National Fish and Chip Awards 2024, run for a second year by the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), will get the chance to go on a once-in-a-lifetime study trip to Norway in June. There, they will experience firsthand how delicious Norwegian cod and haddock is responsibly harvested from Norway’s cold, clear waters.

Minister Myrseth was challenged to cook alongside student Harry Harvey, who designed a dish celebrating Norwegian cold-water prawns, especially for the visit.
