Lots to discuss at Prestwich Township Forum

A packed agenda awaits visitors to the next Prestwich Township Forum, which takes place on Wednesday 14 November at the Longfield Suite.

Up for discussion will be Bury’s revised Core Strategy, a vital planning blueprint that will guide and control the development of the borough over the next 15 years and be used in deciding planning applications.

Consultation runs until Friday 30 November and a planning officer will be at the meeting to answer questions. Summary leaflets will be available to take away setting out how the Core Strategy affects your area and how you can make comments.

The meeting, which starts at 6.30pm, will include a debrief on the Festwich music event that was held in September. There will also be a presentation about defibrillators that are to be placed in Prestwich, and updates on Local in Prestwich and planned Christmas events. Incredible Edible will inform the meeting about their work and progress atPhillipsPark, and there will be an update on the work contained within the Local Area Plan.

There will also be the usual open forum, where visitors can raise concerns and voice opinions on what the priorities for Prestwich should be.

Forum chair David Stanley said: “This is a packed agenda, but with lots of information and updates that are all very local and relevant to Prestwich, and we invite everyone to attend.”
