Bury’s talented children have been plotting out a career working in the built environment. Seven young people, who have experienced being in care or looked after, were treated to a careers development seminar by the council’s Joint Venture Partner Muse Places.

LET’S DO IT Community Fund supports neighbourhood activities

Fifty-eight voluntary groups from across Bury’s communities have been successful in applying for support through the LET’S Do It! Community Fund. The money will be used to support a range of activities from exercise to e-learning and mental health to meals.

Formed in April 1974 as a result of Local Government re-organisation it was one of the ten original districts that formed the County of Greater Manchester. The Borough has an area of 9,919 hectares (24,511 acres) and serves a population of 187,500.
