Bury Council is changing the way that it charges for the return of stray dogs

From 1 January 2013, any owner whose dog has been picked up by the council’s dog warden service as a stray and been taken to the kennels at Manchester Dogs Home will need to pay at the time of pick up or in advance before their dog is released back to them There will no longer be the option of choosing to be invoiced at a later date by the council.

Manchester Dogs Home accepts payment by cash or by credit or debit card, so owners visiting the home will need to ensure that they have the necessary cash or a valid payment card.

The current charge for picking up your dog from the Home is £107.64 (as of the 1st January 2013)
