Preparing for my first training competition

First ride on my own yesterday (2:nd time on the bike). My mission was to get to know the bike better and to get more comfortable on the bike. Managing the gear & breaks, stand up, pedal fast  and most important of all be able to grab the water bottle while biking.

Due to poor weather conditions ( in Swedish: Kräksnö), I didn’t go on the planned route but managed to do 28.8 km in about 1h 23 min. I can really need a pair of glasses…. Some parts I had to stop ´cause I couldn’t see. My fastest logged speed was  39 km/h.

The worst part if this is that I kind off like it….

On Wednesday my first training competition is coming up. The deal is to ride as fast as possible in 16 km, so you do 8 km turn around and come back, if I understood it all right. Expectations for the race… Well, still I haven´t been attending to any classes. So I probably don’t have the best technique. But 16 km won´t be a problem I think….. Lotta said that a race of 30 km would take about 50 min ( if I remember right) so this should be about half that time + extra rookie time for me. But I see this as a test to see what I can perform today and how much I can push that in two months and then see how my results have improved….
