SILVA takes over sales and distribution in Germany and Austria
For the last five years Silva has had a good collaboration with Oberalp as a distributor in Germany and Austria. However, as part of the growth strategy Silva handles these markets directly as of October 2018.
As part of the growth strategy Silva has opened a direct sales channel and customer service for the markets in Germany and Austria. In this process Silva has recruited Bernhard von Toll as Area manager and the German speaking customer service is located at the Silva head office in Sweden.
Bernhard von Toll comes directly from Oberalp where he had the responsibility for the Silva portfolio. “Silva is the leading brand in Scandinavia and all products are developed for demanding conditions. The high-quality products together with the company philosophy is well suited for the German speaking markets”, says Bernhard.
“In the fast-changing retail market we see the importance to have direct access to our key customer in the most important sport and outdoor market in Europe. We believe with Bernhards strong expertise we can strengthen the SILVA brand in Germany and Austria and build a long-term sustainable presence in the German speaking countries”, explains Richard Jägrud, CEO at Silva.

Three entrepreneurial brothers. One great invention. In 1933, Björn, Alvar and Arvid Kjellström invented the first ever liquid-filled compass, and our story began. Not only was it the first compass of its kind, but it also set the global standard for how navigation works. The SILVA brand was born. A few years later, in 1935, we expanded our business with our new invention, and first headlamp, Zeiler. We have since then continued to evolve and set trends for outdoor equipment. The SILVA brand is currently marketed to the Nordic region, Europe, Asia and North America. Since 2011, SILVA is owned by Karnell. For more info, please visit www.silva.se
