Primus Outlines Pillars for Its Sustainable Improvement Program
Sweden (June, 2023) — Primus, the Swedish cooking equipment brand, sets forth its Sustainable Improvement Program (SIP), the guiding values that focus and evaluate the company’s sustainability and environmental footprint. SIP was born out a desire to provide the most relevant outdoor cooking products possible, with a focus on efficiency and durability.
“When you buy a product from Primus, we want you to feel good about buying a lifelong companion that will join you on all of your outdoor pursuits,” said Manuel Dürmoser head of product at Primus-Silva. “We’re working to use more durable materials that will increase the life of equipment, and we provide a large selection of replacement parts to keep your Primus gear functioning year after year.”
Primus describes SIP as four pillars of focus for improvement: product and packaging, supply chain and logistics, circular business models, and operations. Many of Primus’ recent innovations, such as SIP Power Gas and its Service for a Reason campaign, fall under the larger umbrella of SIP initiatives.
“Primus has always been committed to improvement, and SIP gives us a roadmap for us to reference on our journey toward a more sustainable future and reducing our global impact,” said Dürmoser, “You can see that not only reflected in our products and the materials used in them, but also in our brand initiatives and more behind-the-scenes areas of our business, such as our increased control in the use of airfreight for shipping and our Carbon Neutral Fuel offset that has been in place since 2015.”
The Carbon Neutral Fuel offset is a partnership between Primus and First Climate, a leading specialist in managing and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, with Primus donating to and supporting green initiative projects.
