Warmth is everything— whatever the activity, Haglöfs has an insulation for it

Haglöfs has a long tradition of meeting the demands of outdoor life with revolutionary insulation technologies, and this winter is no exception.

This fall/winter season, Haglöfs presents their most advanced collection of insulating garments yet. This is largely thanks to their toolkit of four insulating technologies, of natural and synthetic origins, that enables the outdoor brand to design garments that can live up to performance needs in a wide range of conditions and activities.

“Our goal is to make sure our consumers are warm, whatever outdoor activity they are practicing and whatever the weather,” says Annsofie Jakobsson, Head of Design at Haglöfs. “We have a very clear technology structure, and technologies that truly answer our consumers’ performance expectations.”

H Down: Natural down with hydrophobic abilities
One of the insulation technologies in the spotlight this season is H Down. While natural down is unbeatable in many ways, untreated down is sensitive to water and sweat. Humidity makes it lose its insulating properties and breathability, and gain weight. Haglöfs’ H Down counteracts this issue. It’s enhanced with a fluorocarbon free DWR treatment, making it exceptionally water resistant, maintaining insulation and breathability, and reducing weight gain. Responsibly sourced, Haglöfs’ down is always RDS certified and bluesign® approved.

“Being warm is a lot about staying dry as well, which is why we use hydrophobic goose down for our H Down Platinum and Gold insulations,” says Annsofie Jakobsson. “On top of offering great warmth for weight, it helps you stay dry longer when you’re out in a wet environment.”

H Down Gold is natural down, with superb inherent warming properties. But contrary to regular down it can also withstand humidity for at least 5,000 minutes of constant exposure.

H Down Platinum is soft, lightweight, naturally warming down with a hydrophobic treatment that makes it practically impervious to water for at least 10,000 minutes (that’s a full week).

One of the garments featuring H Down in Haglöfs’ upcoming fall/winter ’22 collection is the L.I.M Down Hood. The easily packable down jacket features a baffle construction that delivers an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio. It’s made from a super lightweight and tear-resistant recycled face fabric and filled with H Down Platinum hydrophobic goose down that stays dry for at least 10,000 minutes—a full week—when exposed to humidity.

Mimic: Lightweight recycled synthetic insulation
Mimic is Haglöfs’ collection of superior synthetic insulation that comes in two variants: the 100% recycled Mimic Gold, and the graphene-bolstered Mimic Platinum.

Mimic Gold is first-rate 100% recycled synthetic insulation. It’s lightweight, easy to compress and pack, highly durable and has excellent insulating properties even when it becomes wet.

Mimic Platinum is excellent synthetic insulation reinforced with the Nobel-prize winning super material Graphene, making it warm up faster and hold the warmth for longer.

This season’s V-series Mimic Hood, made especially for mountaineering in harsh winter weather, is filled with Mimic Platinum to supply warmth faster for a longer duration. It’s also extremely breathable from the liner to the shell, with superb moisture management so that you can stay warm without breaking a sweat. The surface is wind and water resistant, and it’s equipped with all the right details at a very low weight.

Haglöfs’ fall/winter line of insulated garments will be available from October 2022 at haglöfs.com, as well as at Haglöfs Brand Stores and selected retailers worldwide. Follow Haglöfs’ journey on Instagram @haglofs.
