tonies® February Releases

24th February, 2023 – tonies® have launched three new Tonies this month, adding to their popular collection of over 150 titles, which include story, music and educational content for children aged 3y+. The new titles include a new Horrible Histories Tonie, a relaunched Travelling Songs Tonie from the Favourite Children’s Songs series and a West African Tales Tonie from a new Worldwide Tales category.

Horrible Histories: Tudors - £14.99
Following on from the popular launch of Horrible Histories: Rotten Romans last summer, tonies® have now released Horrible Histories: Tudors, to the delight of mini historians on a quest for squeamish knowledge!

Listeners can go on a time-travelling audio adventure and walk in the footsteps of the Terrible Tudors, while discovering all the wonderfully gruesome and bloody facts left out in history lessons. They’ll learn about the horrifying Henries, learn about Tudor torture, and will follow King Richard III and Henry Tudor (who never changed his socks!) into battle, and more.

The Horrible Histories series began back in 1993 with Terry Deary’s books, The Terrible Tudors and The Awful Egyptians and has been enormously popular with children (and parents!) ever since, due to its fun and gloriously gory exploration of interesting facts about a wide range of historical periods. Further books covering the Victorian, Middle Ages, Roman and World War II eras have followed, with the franchise expanding into magazines, CDs, stage and TV shows and now there’s tonie® audiobooks!

Favourite Children’s Songs: Travelling Songs - £14.99
Little listeners will be taken on an educational tour of our wonderous world, with the magically musical Travelling Songs Tonie. With lots of toe-tapping and hip-wiggling, they can sing along to favourites such as Home on the Range and She’ll be Coming ‘Round the Mountain. Children will also learn all about the solar system, the different continents and all the wonders that make up the world in a sing-song style – making it much easier for them to remember what they’re learning.

Worldwide Tales: West African Tales - £14.99
Kids can go on a cultural journey and jump right into traditional folk tales from a faraway land with Yandé, a ‘griot’ from West Africa. Griots are an important and treasured member of West African culture, and are storytellers, singers, musicians and oral historians that keep West African heritage alive as stories are passed down the griot generations.

Little listeners will be immersed in the stories of mischievous and clever animals, learn the legend around why ants carry bundles as big as themselves, and how the tortoise got his shell. A great storyteller, Yandé encourages listeners to interact with the soundtrack by creating their own sound effects, there’s even a fun quiz at the end to put the child’s folklore knowledge to the test.

The new Tonies ranges can be purchased from www.tonies.com and from selected retailers.
