Summer‘s new attractions at SkiStar Trysil and Hemsedal: Mountain Coaster, Mountain Tube and plenty of cycling news for the whole family
SkiStar continues to invest in active holiday experiences for the whole family for the summer. New attractions for this year in Trysil are the construction of a brand new adventure arena that opens on June 23 with several fast-paced activities such as Mountain Coaster, Mountain Tube and trail biking in Valleskogen, as well as opening up more trails for lift-based trail biking. And to make the experience more accessible, the prices* for bike rental and the BikePass required for lift cycling are also reduced.
SkiStar’s main focus in Hemsedal will be on building the new SkiStar Express lift for the upcoming winter season, while several activities such as cycling, hiking and accommodation at SkiStar Lodge Hemsedal will be available.
"We want more people to have the opportunity to enjoy a summer vacation in the mountains with activities and relaxation, while enjoying fresh air and beautiful scenery. With our strong commitment to the Tourist Centre in Trysil, we hope to offer something for the whole family, as well as a group of friends or conference guests during the summer and autumn season, combined with Trysil’s full range of activities. This summer, we’re also maximising the experience of our top-notch lodgings, as our two activity hotels are ready with plenty of activities, great food, spa and a swimming pool experiences,” says Gudrun Sanaker Lohne, SkiStar Trysil’s Destination Manager.

Eventyr, adjacent to the Tourist Centre and Radisson Blu Resort, is a brand new adventure arena being built with several new summer activities: They are easily and easily booked by buying a ticket on skistar.com or via the SkiStar App:
- Mountain Tube: Fly downhill on a rubber ring on different tracks.
- Mountain Coaster: A fast-paced trail roller coaster takes you down the mountain, suitable for both young and old.
- Mountain drifting mini-cart: Electric mini-go carts that you drive on a plastic backing that simulates the feeling of driving on snow. Target group 7-15 years.
- Trampoline: Trampoline in complete safety, sitting in a harness with elastic rubber bands. Try out all the acrobatic tricks you never dared to do on a regular trampoline. For guests from 3 years of age and a minimum height of 100 cm.
- Trail cycling for kids: Explore two new cycling trails (light green) in Valleskogen, and an adapted cycling trail for the youngest children down by the conveyor belt in the children's area.
Trysil is Norway's MTB paradise with over 170 km of nature cycling for all ages and levels. There’s also plenty of hiking and other activities to enjoy on two wheels.
The lift-based trail biking route, which you can access via the Fjellekspressen lift, includes two new flow trails, Twister and Flowstar, from the top of the Fjellekspressen down to the Tourist Centre, which was completed last year. This summer, a new, easier route with prepared stops will be developed along the way for families with children, which will open later this summer. Together with the Magic Moose track, a total of 24 km of lift-based trail biking will be available during the summer season.
Anyone who loves trail biking can also choose the tracks in Gullia, which opens on May 26, is perhaps Norway’s best-known cycling area with a total of 30 km of varying degrees of difficulty, as well as GT Bike Park with pump tracks and a so-called dirt hop. At the top of the mountain, you’ll find the well-known Fjellrunden and Fjellflyt: fine, long family-friendly trails that you can also reach by the Fjellekspressen lift. You can easily rent your bike from SportLodgen SkiStarshop, book your own bike guide or join the Bike Kids Camp for everyone aged 8-11. On June 23-25, the Excursion Bike Festival, Utflykt, will also be held in Trysil. The festival is Norway's largest and welcomes anyone who enjoys cycling during a weekend full of activities.
