Press release -

Hello to JYSK Bradford

JYSK Bradford opened on June 29th and delivered one of the most successful store openings in the UK for the global Scandinavian-owned retail furniture group.

The Phoenix Retail Park store saw queues from 8am on Saturday morning and at tills throughout the weekend as customers continued to visit – and shop.

The store, which is the latest in JYSK’s ambitious UK expansion, lived up to JYSK’s expectations, and more, and looks set to be one of the company’s top performers for the country.

JYSK has plans to take its UK store numbers to 52 and continues to find the right note with UK shoppers.

JYSK Bradford’s opening follows a record-breaking St Helens opening just two weeks earlier and another record-smashing performance at the opening of its relocated and upgraded Lincoln store in May. Its Lincoln store saw a month’s sales delivered in just two days and broke all retail records for a store opening for the company in the UK. It continues to trade strongly.

David Ashton, Country Manager JYSK UK, said: “Our new team in Bradford worked incredibly hard to showcase a beautiful new store. It is always such fun being involved in the first day of opening of a new retailer in a city and despite the busy store, all the staff continued to give great customer service to lots of happy customers.

“This is a slightly more ‘stand alone’ unit than our locations elsewhere, therefore we know the power of local marketing will be vital to success, using geo-targeted online and offline traditional methods, but notwithstanding the greatest marketing is building a superb reputation locally for A Great Offer and Customer Service.

“The power of ‘Word of Mouth’ is still the most critical marketing tool that exists - one that we are very aware of. It was a top start to the new store - with a very good performance.

“Next we move onto open one of our biggest UK stores so far, Wakefield, opening 3rd August.”

All new and relocated stores are concept 3.0 format, which offers a stylish and contemporary shopping experience with room settings and displays to inspire and excite, backed with great prices and quality.
