Your invitation to the Bury Works Employment, Health and Skills Fair

Are you looking for a job? A different job? Or do you want to gain more skills, and train in a different field?

Make a date for next Wednesday (16 March), when the Bury Works Employment Health and Skills Fair is held at Castle Leisure Centre.

Bury Council, its partners, and a range exhibitors will be offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in all aspects of the working world.

It’s free – and you may even be offered a job!

Drop in at any time between 1pm and 7pm and be welcomed by employers, skills and training providers, health and wellbeing services, all aiming to improve your current working life.

As well as employer exhibitors, who will have real jobs on offer, the event will feature a big screen with postings of all the latest vacancies in and around the borough.

There will be fun, work-themed activities to participate in – exhibitors from Cheetham Hill Construction will let you try your hand at a full simulator experience!

As well as getting advice on jobs, skills and health, visitors to the fair will get discounted food and drinks from Olive’s Kitchen.

A number of employers, health and training providers will be exhibitors at the fair, from a variety of sectors. They include: Barclays, WSP, Compliance Training Limited, Cheetham Hill Construction, G4S, DWP, MANTRA, Alliance Learning, Paragon Meed, BEP Surface Technologies, Cranswick Continental Foods, Home Instead, Diamond Buses NW, and Winnington Financial Planning LTD.

Councillor Tamoor Tariq, cabinet member for children’s services, young people and skills, said: “It’s so important to match up the needs of employers with the chance for people to improve their skills or learn new ones.

“This event pulls together in one place businesses and the support that residents need to find a new job, get careers advice and access to training.”
