Your invitation to a woodland wildflower walk

The Friends of Redisher Wood (FORW) have organised a Woodland Wildflower Walk led by local natural history expert Dave Winnard on Sunday 10 May.

The three-hour walk starts at 1pm from the Hare and Hounds pub on Bolton Road West. There is a £2 donation towards the FORW.

Redisher Wood is one of the best woodland sites in the borough, with Holcombe Brook flowing through the middle. The valley sides have great swathes of bluebells and the edges of the brook are carpeted with Lesser Celandine. Ferns, Wood Sorrel and Red Campion are scattered throughout the woodland.
