Press release -

Knit, natter, and help the homeless

Knitters of all ages and abilities are invited to use their talents in a way that will help the homeless.

A free and fun session has been arranged at Topping Fold Community Centre and Library on Saturday 26 July from 10am to noon.

The event has been organised by the library’s Knit ’n’ Natter group, who will provide everything from yarn and needles to tea, coffee and biscuits.

On the day, people will knit squares to sew into blankets for homeless people. The knitters say it’s simply a matter of using double knitting wool and size 8 needles (4mm), and you Cast on 20 stitches, Knit 39 rows, and cast off!

Thanks to a grant from Forever Manchester, there may be financial help towards taxi fares for those unable to make their own way to the session.
