Join our virtual careers event tomorrow

Young people considering their future prospects are invited to join the Bury Virtual Careers Event 2020 tomorrow (Wed 23 Sep).

The Bury Apprenticeship Working Group has now set up its website for the event, which contains a huge amount of information about career pathways and has more than 30 colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers and employers taking part.

The event is aimed at Year 10 and 11 pupils and their parents, but anyone else is welcome to visit the site.

When visiting the website https://www.burycareersevent.org.uk/ the landing page will have the logos of the exhibitors taking part. Click on the logo and it will take you into their page with a description of what they offer, videos, photos and case studies.

Between 3pm and 7pm most of them will have staff available answering questions online. After 23 September the website will remain live until next August. Pupils and parents can continue to browse the site which we will maintain and to submit questions to the organisations involved.

Councillor Tamoor Tariq, cabinet member for children’s services, young people and skills, said: “Young people often face a bewildering number of career choices, and don’t know where to start. This virtual event will give them the chance to get all the information they need to set them on the right course and fulfil their potential.”
