Help to keep our children e-safe

A series of free sessions is being held for parents to raise awareness of the online risks to their children.

Bury Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) works with the police, Bury Council, children’s centres and schools to educate and protect children about the safer use of the internet.

Mark Gay, one of the Bury Safeguarding Children Board development officers, said: “The growing use of the internet for communicating and the many ways we can now access the internet has been of huge benefit, but it is also an increasing potential danger. Many of us are unaware of the possible challenges of keeping children safe online and how it can lead to child sexual exploitation.

“The aim of these sessions is to give parents an awareness of potential risks involved in social networking, mobile phone use, online gaming and the internet itself and how children can place themselves at risk.”

The sessions are free of charge – to book a place, contact your centre of choice:
