Help to celebrate Her Majesty’s Jubilee

Artists and those with a creative talent can apply for funding to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Bury Council has set up a fund to help them create artwork across the borough to celebrate the Jubilee and to reflect on life in Bury during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

Funding of £15,000 is being made available for proposals which creatively can take any form including sculpture, print, graphics, textile, spoken word, painting, visual art, photography, written word, performance, events, or a combination of these.

Councillor Charlotte Morris, cabinet member for the culture and the economy said: "Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee is a very special occasion that deserves to be marked in a very special way.

"Not only do we have a range of community events planned across Bury, but I am delighted to announce the Jubilee Creative Commission.

"As we come together to commemorate this important milestone, we want to harness the creative talent of our borough to celebrate The Queen's historic 70 years of service to our country."

Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. A series of events are planned to celebrate this historic reign, and there are many ways for you to get together with family, friends and neighbours to celebrate. Further information can be found here: The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations - Bury Council.

Applications for proposals are open on Friday 25th March and close on Friday 29th April 2022. Individuals, networks and groups are welcome to apply; collaborative bids are encouraged, as are those which welcome strong local public engagement.
