Extra care scheme tenants help to spread Christmas cheer

Staff and residents at a Bury extra care scheme have donated toys and treats to a local foodbank which was recently burgled.

They had spent weeks collecting items for their annual donation to charity, and decided to give them to Trinity Food Bank in Radcliffe after reading about a break-in at the centre.

Naomi Smith, registered manager at Falcon & Griffin Extra Care/Support at Home Services, said: “Every year the donations get bigger and better, and we will continue to collect for good causes each year. A big ‘thank you’ to Christine Whittaker who organises the collections as well as the rest of the staff and tenants at Falcon & Griffin.”

Tina Harrison of Trinity said: “So many more families and vulnerable people need the help of a food bank this year, and these donations will go a long way in assisting us to deliver food and treats over the winter months.”
