Apprenticeship week brings a host of opportunities to Bury

Over 100 apprenticeships will be up for grabs in a week-long series of events in Bury next week to mark National Apprenticeship Week.

For youngsters not currently in employment, education or training who want the opportunity the climb the career ladder, there are vacancies in catering, hair and beauty, administration, childcare, customer service, electrical, health & social care, IT, retail, dentistry and teaching.

Events to mark Apprenticeship Week start on Monday 11 March at unit 26, Mill Gate Shopping Centre (next to Poundland). The Anthony for Hair Academy with business ownerAnthony Popadich,  will be giving a live demonstration.

On Tuesday 12 March, there will be a ‘Training for Today’ event with demonstrations of nail art, hair spraying, face-painting and make-up taster sessions.

On Wednesday 13 March, Bury College will be giving a demonstration on the catering industry, bringing along tasty treats to show wannabe bakers how to decorate chocolate and cupcakes and entice them into a career in catering.

For youngsters visiting the shopping centre on Thursday 14 March there will be the chance to meet local business leaders in a ‘Back to the Floor’ event.

Topping off the week on Friday 15 March will be a showcase from successful apprentices who will be on hand to explain how their chance to shine made a difference to their lives and their careers.
