Enjoy Ramsbottom this Small Business Saturday

Independent businesses in Ramsbottom have been combining their skills to launch a Christmas digital marketing campaign in time for Small Business Saturday this weekend (4 December).

‘Enjoy Ramsbottom’ calls on local people to revisit some of the treasures on their own high street when doing their Christmas shopping and socialising.

‘Enjoy Ramsbottom’ has been developed by the team at The Chocolate Cafe working with local photographer Stephen Redfern and Grace Grieve of Pink Labrador PR and local floristry artists Alternative Arrangements who distributed garlands and wreaths to add some festive greenery complementing the Christmas trees and painted windows to add seasonal cheer.

The project has been funded by Bury Council through the H M Government and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to aid the recovery of the high streets and town centres after the devastation of Covid and through the Leader of Bury Council’s Business Recovery Fund (Shop Local).

Over 30 traders have been photographed posing in front of their businesses and these will feature on a new website and social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

By bringing the Ramsbottom together with a clear narrative, visitors and local residents can appreciated the whole town offer which is a friendly, traditional shopping leisure experience. Businesses across the town offer product knowledge, friendly customer service and independent advice in a historic high street setting with lots of great places to stop for food and drink.

Phillip Hargreaves, owner of the chocolate café ‘ Ramsbottom really offers local residents and visitors a great experience and as businesses we wanted to work together to get that message out. We have used the Welcome Back funds to kickstart this promotional campaign and we have been able to use local creative businesses in the process.

Participating businesses and Bury Council will be sharing the campaign in a collaborative effort to boost the profile of the town. The Enjoy Ramsbottom virtual high street launched online on 1 December with an advent calendar featuring photos of the doorways and will be developed to support other major retail seasons, local festivals and events.
