Talk show about future offices with Mark Isitt, Stefan Nilsson and guests

The Hello Show gives invited guests from widely differing backgrounds and industries the opportunity to debate the notion of the organization and the office as a phenomenon. The talk show is one aspect of the Hello! project, which has been initiated by Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair to promote discussion and provide inspiration regarding the modern workplace.

The idea behind The Hello Show is to create a forum that attracts a broad group, everyone from designers, behavioural scientists, architects and producers to marketing managers and interior designers, who will together shape the work environments, designs and spaces of the future.

"I believe that it is important to examine from numerous perspectives how we organize our work and to encourage spirited dialogue on the topic. This is something that concerns us all – as it has done in the past and will do in the future. That is why we have arranged a talk show. Through lively debate we will be able to develop our future workplaces in such a way that we ensure continued cooperation between fast-paced individuals and the general collective. First, however, we need to talk about it," says Sanna Gebeyehu, who is the project developer for Hello!

The moderators are Mark Isitt, architecture critic at Göteborgs-Posten, and trendspotter Stefan Nilsson.

"Last year's venture felt incredibly fresh and was an attempt to produce a Swedish talk show on a subject that is otherwise always treated with exaggerated respect. I hope that this year we can delve even deeper into the various topics without this affecting the tempo or humour of the event," says Mark Isitt.

The list of invited guests includes Oscar Hafvenstein, who is one of the founders of design firm Boys Don't Cry and the co-creator of a new interdisciplinary business development service called The Power of X.

"A quite distinct trend involves customers, whether they be companies or private clients, wanting more space for themselves in their relationships with offices and home environments. Everyone wants their own tailored solution rather than a general one-size-fits-all solution. The design approaches of the furniture world and its innovation systems need to develop in the same way as those developed within the most successful commercial enterprises, where the aim is to try to satisfy the various and specific needs of all your customers in new and exciting ways."

Other guests in attendance include marketing genius Göran Garberg, designer Monica Förster, trend analyst Rita Nakouzi from Promostyl, and architect Ferda Kolatan from su11 in New York.

How do you go about creating a personality and identity for large organizations? Is it enough to have amusing names for conference rooms or is a broader approach required to transform a brand's values into narrative forms for the office? How can the furniture industry meet demand from a market that is searching for increasingly individual textiles, fixtures and fittings, furniture and solutions? We regard the narrative as a tool for shaping the work environment.

Mens sana in corpore sano – a healthy mind in a healthy body. Employees are the office body's life-giving resources – its muscles, heart and soul. How can we incorporate health into working life and thus create benefits for the organization generally? Are there simple means of increasing efficiency and reducing absences due to sickness? To avoid grumpy faces and encourage job satisfaction? We take a look at the office from the perspective of wellbeing.

Man is a herd animal. Our major achievements are often the result of collaboration. An idea may only need one person – but implementing it requires a good many more. How can we ensure good cooperation? What can we learn from one another to ensure innovation and cross-fertilization across industry boundaries?

What do we know about something that we don't know we don't know – the future? We can start by using the knowledge and experience that already exists and perform analyses where the focus is firmly on tomorrow. We promise calculated guesses, shrewd observations and pure crystal ball speculation.
