Daniel Heckscher is the new Director for Stockholm Furniture Fair and Stockholm Design Week

Stockholm Furniture Fair and Stockholm Design Week are pleased to announce the new Director – Daniel Heckscher. With a strong background in both design and leadership, Daniel Heckscher will lead the vision and strategic direction of both events, further strengthening their positions as the leading platforms for design in Scandinavia.

Daniel Heckscher joins the team with extensive experience in the design industry, having previously held key positions at Note Design Studio as designer, interior architect, and partner. He played a key role in making the Swedish design studio successful, and his innovative approach remains integral of its continued success. With a deep understanding of the design landscape, Daniel Heckscher is well-suited to drive Stockholm Furniture Fair and Stockholm Design Week forward.

“I am thrilled to take on this new role and continue the legacy of Hanna Nova Beatrice, the former Director, whose vision revitalized Stockholm Furniture Fair and Stockholm Design Week,” says Daniel Heckscher. “These events are pillars in the Scandinavian design world, and I look forward to working closely with the team, the exhibitors, and the entire design community to create even more impactful and inspiring experiences. There is a fantastic foundation to build upon, and I am happy and grateful to have been given the task.”

Plans for 2025 and ahead

Under Daniel Heckscher’s leadership, the upcoming editions of Stockholm Furniture Fair and Stockholm Design Week will see a strengthened focus on design curation and cultural engagement, as well as reinforcing their position as international platforms. The 2025 events will continue to showcase the best in Scandinavian design while also welcoming renowned designer and artist Faye Toogood as Guest of Honour. Her multidisciplinary approach aligns with the 2025 fair – dedicated to the diverse landscape of design.

"We are confident that Daniel Heckscher will bring strategic insight and innovation to our events," says Chicie Lindgren, Business Area Manager for Stockholm Design Events. "As we look to the future, his expertise and vision will be invaluable in ensuring that Stockholm Furniture Fair and Stockholm Design Week remain leading platforms for the design industry, and at the forefront of the global design conversation."
