ESA lägger rymdkonferens i Lund
Rymdteknik för hållbara, smarta städer och innovationer? Det är något som ska diskuteras när den Europeiska Rymdorganisationen ESA (European Space Agency) håller konferens under tre dagar i Lund i mars.

Rymdföretaget Umbilical Design och ÅF inleder samarbete för att Sverige ska bli bäst i Europa på hållbar rymdtekniköverföring
Rymdtekniköverföring, eller space technology transfer, handlar om att hitta teknologier och koncept inom rymdindustrin som kan tillämpas på andra områden, som till exempel inom medicinsk teknik, fordonsindustrin eller hållbar stadsplanering. Rymdföretaget Umbilical Design och teknikkonsultföretaget ÅF inleder nu ett samarbete för att Sverige ska bli bäst i Europa inom hållbar rymdtekniköverföring.

Cecilia Hertz, grundare av Umbilical Design, är klar för TEDxAlmedalen som i år har temat gränslöshet. Övriga talare är bland annat dansaren och koreografen Virpi Pahkinen, Ida Östensson, Crossing Borders, Nicklas Lundblad, Google inc. och entreprenören Milad Mohammadi. "Vi måste fortsätta att utmana oss själva och våra teknologier istället för att skapa repetitiv design", säger Cecilia Hertz.

A Swedish delegation visited NASA Ames in San Francisco, June 10-11. The group, that included Swedish astronaut Christer Fuglesang, was made up of 14 representatives from the Swedish business, academia and entrepreneurial communities. Cecilia Hertz, CEO of Umbilical Design, led the delegation, invited by NASA to meet with experts in various fields, such as AI, green building and sustainability.

The Swedish space technology company Umbilical Design has been appointed to the Swedish node within the ESA Technology Transfer Network. The network consists of 12 national technology transfer initiatives across Europe, all working to identifying and transferring space technology to be used in the commercial industry sector.
