Pre-launch of Down to Earth project in Stockholm on June 15th

”Commercialising Space Technologies for a Sustainable Earth” At the KTH innovation pavillion of Love 2010 at Skeppsbron, the Down to Earth project will be pre-launched to the public during June 15 - 17. Down to Earth has developed a cross-over innovation process that generates innovations and new ideas with focus on sustainability. The aim is to generate new exciting jobs for young people.

”Commercialising Space Technologies for a Sustainable Earth” Under festivalen ”Love 2010” kommer projektet Down to Earth att förlanseras och visas den 15 – 17 Juni, i KTHs innovationspaviljong på Skeppsbron. Varför inte använda rymdapplikationer för att skapa mer hållbara lösningar på jorden, stimulera svensk industri och skapa intressanta jobb åt unga? Vi antar framtidens utmaningar!

Space design and space technology transfer

Umbilical Design AB was founded in 2001 by industrial designer Cecilia Hertz, and since its inception has worked with NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) on design for the space industry. Umbilical Design has also been successful in showing how design, technology and material from the space industry can be transferred to Swedish enterprise and society. During 15 years Umbilical Design has been appointed as ESA innovation partner. Umbilical Design oversees transfer of technology from the space sector to Swedish industry with the overarching objective to stimulate business opportunities by exploiting the materials knowledge, methods and approaches of the space sector.
