First time ever – an Indian Bollywood musical in Stockholm
Stockholm Culture Festival, 15-20th of August, has India as its theme. The festival week starts with a great Bollywood musical on stage at Gustav Adolfs Torg.
The Indian performance Love Story - A Bollywood Musical offers a love story with passion and revenge, well-known Indian popular music, as well as musicians, actors and dancers – totally 36 artists on stage.
- Bollywood is the largest cultural attraction in India and an expression that is well-known and popular throughout the world. I'm so glad that we can come to Stockholm and be the first to present a real Bollywood musical. With the Love Story-show, we want to create community and togetherness among people. When they go home we want them to feel uplifted and filled with joy, says Sanjoy Roy, director and producer.
The production has been touring around the world since the premiere in 2008. Everywhere the show is received by a large audience, who enthusiastically enjoys the performance and creates the inclusive festivities so strongly associated with Bollywood - at its best. After the show the night will continue with a big Bollywood club and dancing in the square.
- Stockholm needs more events of this kind, with performances taking place in the city’s public areas to attract visitors and encourage the stockholmers to experience their own hometown in a different way, says Maria Rankka, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and partner of the Bollywood project.

The Stockholm Culture Festival has a free entrance, runs 15-20th of August and offers something for all ages. During spring and summer, the entire festival's program will be released. This year's festival theme is India and is presented in cooperation with India Unlimited / Indian Embassy.
