Press release -
Motosumo’s global #TrainForWater campaign raises $1,500 to support safe water access worldwide
Copenhagen, March 28, 2025 – The #TrainForWater campaign has just ended, and we’re truly grateful for the incredible support from our global community. From March 17–23, 2025, thousands of riders joined us on the Motosumo app for the ninth edition of our ´Cycle For Change´ series - cycling to raise awareness and funds for Water.org, a global nonprofit organisation that provides safe water and sanitation to families in need.
Motosumo is a digital fitness and indoor cycling platform that connects people worldwide through live and on-demand workouts - all accessible via smartphone. With Cycle For Change, we aim to use that connection to make a positive impact together.
Participants collectively cycled an impressive 28,376 kilometers, riding for 4,688 hours and enabling Motosumo to donate $1,500 to Water.org. Coinciding with World Water Day on March 22, the campaign aimed to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 6: clean water and sanitation for all.
Kresten Juel Jensen, CEO of Motosumo, commented:
“We’re proud of what our global community continues to achieve together. By turning every kilometer into a contribution, our members continue to show how fitness can fuel positive change - this time supporting the fundamental right to clean and safe water.”
Supporting access to clean water
This community-powered donation will help advance Water.org's innovative approach to the global water crisis. Rather than providing temporary solutions, Water.org creates lasting change through microfinance programs that empower families to invest in their own water and sanitation solutions. They've already transformed the lives of more than 76 million people worldwide through their sustainable model.
Erin Prock, Marketing Manager at Water.org, said:
“We’re grateful to Motosumo and its community for supporting our vision of safe water for all. This campaign shows the power of people coming together to take action that truly makes a difference.”
Cycle for Change: Fitness for a cause
The #TrainForWater campaign is part of Motosumo’s ongoing Cycle For Change initiative, which aims to transform community-based indoor cycling into a tool for actionable positive impact, delivered in partnership with professional nonprofit organizations - this time, Water.org.
While the Cycle For Change series always prioritizes community-driven action, many of our previous campaigns have also touched on themes highlighted in the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
For instance, #TrainForWater supported access to clean water (SDG 6), while #TrainForSchools helped improve education opportunities (SDG 4). Campaigns focused on mental health and breast cancer research reflected aspects of SDG 3 (good health and well-being), and both #TrainForTrees and #TrainForSeas encouraged environmental awareness, aligning with SDG 13 (climate action) and SDG 14 (life below water).
We’re grateful that our international community continues to take part, showing that collective movement can lead to small but meaningful steps toward positive change.
Join the movement
We invite individuals, organizations, and donation partners to be part of future Cycle For Change campaigns. Whether you join as a rider, help spread the word, or support a cause directly as a donation partner, every effort counts.
