Press release -

Norwegian e-health company, Bliksund, accelerates growth with Monterro

Leading Nordic growth investor in B2B software companies, Monterro, has acquired a majority share of market leading Norwegian e-health SaaS company Bliksund. The aim is to accelerate growth, expand internationally and support even more organisations within the ambulance, rescue and fire services.

Norwegian Bliksund’s revenue more than tripled in 2020, compared to previous year. The increased growth rate is a result of the company’s two product groups: an electronic journal for ambulances and a portal that allows staff at rescue and fire services access to the centralised support system.

Thanks to the acquisition, Monterro will be majority owners and the remaining share will be held by the company’s founders. The partnership will enable Bliksund to accelerate product development, increase the product portfolio via add-on acquisitions in the digital platform, and expand internationally. Until recently, Bliksund was only available in Norway, where all regions use Bliksund’s platform.

- ”The investment is in line with Monterro’s mission,” says Roald Hunvik, partner and manager for Monterro Norway. ”We’ll support our talented founders and Bliksund’s management team with business development and international expansion to accelerate their growth. We plan to grow organically, but we’ll also consider add-on acquisition opportunities.”

Bliksund was founded in 2010 and has an extensive domain expertise from the emergency and health sector. The company works closely with system users to create user-friendly products that deliver great customer satisfaction. The solutions are compatible with other support systems, such as electronic journal (EPJ) systems.

- ”We play a very important in the digitalisation of the Norwegian emergency and health care sector. Our aim is to support the sector with even more services while expanding internationally,” says Tor Laukvik, CEO of Bliksund. ”We’re looking to expand in Sweden, Denmark and Great Britain first, but also further abroad. ”

Recent surveys show customer satisfaction is at an all time high. Scores indicate customers are especially pleased with the software and delivery. Global expansion is high on Bliksund’s agenda. Ways of working in the emergency and health care sector are similar throughout the world, and the sector is undergoing digital transformation on a global scale.

- ”Our customers really appreciate our products. The users get a good overview and greater control, which improves digital coordination efficiency. We’re happy to have found a reputed investor that’s recognised for business development and international expansion. Monterro specialises in software companies like ours. Thanks to the partnership, we’ll get both invaluable strategic expertise and financial muscles,” says Tor Laukvik.
