New record results from JYSK

Earnings of EUR 396.5 million before interest and tax and a turnover, reaching EUR 2.8 billion for the first time ever – over the past year, developments at JYSK have yielded record results.

JYSK GROUP, comprising more than 2,200 JYSK/Dänisches Bettenlager stores in 36 countries, has just published its results for the past year.A massive investment in customer-oriented activities has yielded a record increase in turnover of 10 percent, so that turnover now stands at EUR 2.8 billion. The company's earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amount to EUR 396.5 million, an increase of almost 25 percent. This development is due in large part to a clear focus on four key areas:

  • A large investment in internal training programmes, including in product knowledge, service and management has led to greater satisfaction and increased skills for JYSK's employees, resulting in better advice to customers.
  • A substantial increase in special customer-oriented activities in the stores has resulted in greater visibility of JYSK's expertise in key sectors, such as bedrooms, and has attracted new customers.
  • A significant increase in marketing investments has increased the number of customers considerably.
  • A massive investment in E-commerce and online activities in general, which is a major growth area at JYSK today.

"It has been a fantastic year, and I would like to thank all our dedicated employees for their efforts. Naturally, customers have always been what's most important to us here at JYSK, and this past year's development is an expression of that attitude," says JYSK GROUP-owner Lars Larsen.

Over the course of the year, JYSK GROUP has opened more than 100 new stores and currently has more than 2,200 stores under its wing. A similar development is also expected in the year to come. Previously this year, JYSK GROUP announced its decision to open up in a new country – Greece – next year.In addition, a decision has just been reached on yet another country: soon, Montenegro will get its first JYSK stores via a franchise agreement. Thus, by next year JYSK GROUP will have stores in 38 countries.

JYSK GROUP, which is the corporate head of the 2,200 JYSK/Dänisches Bettenlager stores around the world, is by far the largest segment of LARS LARSEN GROUP, the umbrella name for all of Lars Larsen's companies.

Among others, included in LARS LARSEN GROUP are Bolia.com, IDEmøbler and ILVA, together with a number of other companies.

The combined turnover of the LARS LARSEN GROUP is currently EUR 3.1 billion.
