Press release -

Hedin Automotive Acquires Alpina Group and Expands Presence in Switzerland

Hedin Automotive AG in Switzerland has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of Alpina Group, the largest BMW and MINI dealership group in the eastern part of Switzerland with a turnover of around 117,5 million Euro in 2021. With the acquisition of the three dealerships in St. Gallen, Widnau and Chur, the company takes a further step in growing its presence in Switzerland. The takeover is set to position Hedin Automotive as the second largest BMW and MINI dealership groups in the country.

In 2020, Hedin Automotive expanded to Switzerland through the acquisition of three BMW and MINI dealerships in the greater Zurich-area. The company has since welcomed the state-of-the-art bodyshop and paint supplier CaroLack Galliker to the group. Now Hedin Automotive expands into eastern Switzerland, targeting a strategically important area for the group.

- With Alpina Group, we are expanding our footprint further, taking the position as the second largest BMW dealer group in the country. This is fully in line with our strategy, and demonstrates our continued commitment to invest and expand our existing operations in Switzerland. We look forward to welcoming the 140 strong Alpina team as we look to enhance the strong legacy of the dealerships while building additional scale in this important market, says Marcus Larsson, CEO of Hedin Automotive.

- The new ownership will enable us to deliver even better customer experiences, setting us us up for future success. We will continue our BMW operation in St. Gallen, Widnau and Chur with a clear customer focus, but backed by the strength and support of Hedin, adds CFO and co-owner Daniel Engelberger of Alpina Group.
