19FOURTEEN – URBAN PRODUCTS FOR OUTDOOR PEOPLE

19FOURTEEN is Haglöfs’ Outdoor Lifestyle concept – a concept that includes shoes, clothing, backpacks and bags for an active everyday life. This spring Haglöfs is introducing its first 19FOURTEEN collection which features products that are intended for use during the warmer months of the year in the borderland between the city and nature.

19FOURTEEN took its name from the year Haglöfs was founded, 1914, and gathers all of the knowledge and craftsmanship that the company has accumulated over the past one hundred-plus years. Within this concept, Haglöfs offers products that combine modern materials, technical functions and advanced construction with timeless design for people living active lives, both at work and in their freetime.

In Spring/Summer 2016, Haglöfs is introducing a 19FOURTEEN collection that has been developed to meet the needs of a summer day, the commute to and from work, a walk at lunchtime or a cool evening on the way home from the beach. The collection includes everything from t-shirts and shorts to jackets, bags, backpacks and shoes. Just like before, the products take their names from locations in Dalarna, where everything started once upon a time, and influences from Dalarna can be seen throughout the entire collection. Another common theme for the collection is sustainability, and all clothing and shoes for the Spring/Summer 2016 season are qualified to carry the Take Care label.

Haglöfs has been working for a number of years to find a leather that uses an organic tanning process and meets Haglöfs’ requirements, both in terms of quality and functionality as well as sustainability, in an effort to develop a shoe with a smaller environmental footprint. This work is now beginning to pay off. In the spring/summer, Haglöfs will be introducing Take Care products for the first time in its Footwear line, distinguishing the shoe models that have made the greatest advancements in terms of sustainability.

All of the 19FOURTEEN shoes in Spring/Summer 2016 collection carry the Take Care label. Their uppers are made from sustainable leather, which comes from tanneries that are included in the Leather Working Group, and sustainable Bio Solyte® mid-soles that were developed in cooperation with ASICS.

The collection consists of three models: SMÅGAN MID GT (men’s and women’s), SMÅGAN (men’s) and NUSNÄS (women’s). The idea behind the shoes is that many people would like to wear soft, comfortable shoes during the day that can also be worn with regular clothing. SMÅGAN and NUSNÄS have the same sole construction as Haglöfs’ L.I.M shoes, which when combined with the soft leather creates the conditions for a shoe that has high levels of comfort, a good grip and extremely low weight. Urban esthetics and modern technology in the perfect combination.
