Top-of-the-range TORION upgraded to pack a bigger punch
The two flagship CLAAS TORION agricultural wheel loaders now feature more engine power, more lift capacity and an even greater loading height. Their names have also changed to TORION 1913 and TORION 2014.
When it comes to big bucket volumes, strong lift capacities and impressive loading heights, nothing could beat the two flagship models in the TORION range – the 1812 and 1914. Now these two agricultural wheel loaders have been superseded by two new models with redesigned front end and lift arms for increased loading height and reach.
Lift higher, load faster
The main distinguishing feature of the TORION 1913 and 2014 is that the wheelbase has been extended by 10 cm. The reason for this becomes clear on closer inspection: the redesigned front end and lifting frame has enabled the loading height and reach to be increased. Thanks to the longer lift arm, the height of the bucket pivot point has now increased to 4.15 m – an extra by 23.5 cm – both with agricultural kinematics and Z-kinematics. With the new Z-HL Highlift kinematics, a loading height of 4.70 m can now be achieved even with Z-kinematics. This means that even the highest trailers can be safely loaded. Combined with even larger bucket volumes, this has increased the tearout force and tipping load to 165 kN and 12,500 kg (TORION 1913) and 175 kN and 13,750 kg (TORION 2014). In addition to the longer wheelbase, the higher operating weight of 18.5t (TORION 1913) and 19.6t (TORION 2014) make for optimum balance and maximum stability even under high loads. The maximum available hydraulic output has been increased from 234 l/min to 290 l/min to enable faster load cycles.
Low speed and CMATIC for efficiency
The engine output has been adapted in line with the increased load capacities and weights to ensure continued rapid and dynamic load cycles. With its efficient four-cylinder Liebherr engine with a displacement of 7.01 l, the TORION 1913 now delivers 163 kW/222 hp while the 7.96 displacement on the TORION 2014 develops 183 kW/249 hp. Thanks to the low-speed concept, maximum power is achieved at a fuel-efficient 1,150 rpm with maximum torque at 1,100 rpm. The engine output efficiently transmits the driving force to the wheels via the proven split-power CMATIC transmission.
