Newbie - A Wallpaper Fairy tale

Continuing their successful collaboration, Boråstapeter and KappAhl’s lifestyle brand Newbie will launch a new wallpaper collection in February 2020. Designed for little sweethearts, Boråstapeter’s traditional craftsmanship, together with Newbie’s aesthetic expression, has resulted in a fabulous collection of soft colours and 15 dreamy designs. The launch coincides with Newbie’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Newbie Wallpaper lets children tell stories about animals, nature and magical places. About travel and fantastic adventures. About journeys by hot air balloon or wind-filled sails out on the seven seas. There are no boundaries to the imagination – we can travel where we want, how we want and be who we want. In the imagination lies a magic that surrounds us and rocks us to sleep.

“It has been a wonderful journey to work with these fabulous designs. Newbie’s gentle colour scale and design language are very similar to Boråstapeter’s timeless expressions, and fit beautifully in interior design” says Sissa Sundling, Head of Design, Boråstapeter.

The collection consists of 32 wallpapers which welcome the outside world into safe rooms, inspiring play and storytelling as well as restful sleep and creating beautiful surroundings. The wallpapers are manufactured in Boråstapeter’s own factory in the textile city of Borås, where sustainability stands in focus. Production is entirely free from dangerous substances and causes the least possible environmental impact. All the colours used are waterbased and the paper comes from sustainable forestry in Northern Europe.

Boråstapeter and Newbie share a common Western Sweden background and both have their largest customer base in Scandinavia. With core values such as sustainability, timelessness and quality, it felt natural to continue with the collaboration which began last year with a small, limited edition wallpaper collection. Newbie Wallpaper will be available in Newbie stores as well as on kappahl.com and borastapeter.com from early February 2020.
