Boråstapeter introduces a new enchanted wallpaper collection with Hanna Werning
The Swedish designer and illustrator Hanna Werning is back at Boråstapeter for a fourth joint collection since they started collaborating ten years ago. Wonderland is a signature collection characterized by the designer’s intuitive interpretations of our nature where she yet again weaves the magic of fairy tales into vibrant wallpaper patterns.
The prints in the collection are filled with Hanna Werning’s typical storybook-like expressions where all kinds of animals and plants are allowed to roam free side by side in brand new contexts. Here, you’ll find deer grazing amongst corals and silver birches growing in the shades of palm trees as subtle reflections of our new, multi cultural society.
– I like colours, shapes and cheerful styles with prominent themes that add something more to the pattern, says Hanna Werning. The challenge this time was to create a new feeling that still had my trademark on it. The term Wonderland came to me very early in the process and immediately set the tone for the entire collection. It was meant to be like a fairy tale, a free world.
– Driving up to the factory in Borås with my patterns is an amazing feeling. The surface printing adds a character to the wallpaper that is just magical and something I simply cannot create with my hands or in the computer, Hanna Werning concludes.
Wonderland by Hanna Werning features 31 prints in 9 different patterns plus two digital and is available in stores from March 2, 2016.
