A piece of New England on walls around the world - Boråstapeter launches a wallpaper collection with Lexington Company

A blue-striped work shirt, windswept sun-bleached wood, natural materials such as leather, linen, stone, sand and sea, and a relaxed East Coast lifestyle are the sources of inspiration for this classic New England collection.
“This has been an exciting collaboration, bringing together as it did Lexington’s distinct lifestyle concept and Boråstapeter’s knowledge and experience of wallpaper production, which goes back a century. Together we have created a classic collection of patterns that exude a relaxed East Coast style in combination with classic Swedish wallpaper design,” says Sissa Sundling, Head of Design at Boråstapeter.

The patterns are just as popular today as when they first crossed the Atlantic from Europe to New England in the 1700s. Stripes and checks are prominent motifs, as are flowers and shells. The natural tones of sand, natural beige, dusky pink and navy blue are recurring elements throughout the collection and create a calm, relaxed feel.

“Lexington has a wide range of textile and interior design products for the home, which we currently sell on more than 20 markets worldwide. Extending our portfolio by offering our customers the option of complementing their home décor with wallpaper feels like a smart move. It is a very natural step for Lexington as a lifestyle brand,” says Kristina Lindhe, CEO and Creative Director of Lexington.

The collection comprises nine designs. All are named after authors who lived and worked in New England, including Mark Twain who wrote Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Harriet Beecher Stowe who wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and Emelie Dickinson who is one of America’s foremost poets. In addition, there are two digital maps of New England and Boston Harbor, recreated from an 1899 guide book, that can be used as wall decorations in combination with the designs or in their own right.

There are a total of 35 items in the collection.
