Traditional Nordic cuisine meets international flavours: World of Volvo restaurant Ceno opens its doors
Food and beverage are part of the offer at World of Volvo. Both lunch, coffee and dinner can be experienced in the building. The award-winning restaurateur Götaplatsgruppen has been chosen as the dining provider for World of Volvo. The experience centre is now open to visitors who can enjoy dining at Ceno Brasserie, a restaurant where traditional Nordic and Swedish cuisine is infused with influences from all over the world. Star chef Stefan Karlsson is one of the creative minds behind Ceno.
Ceno is Latin for “I dine”, which is a nod to Volvo’s “I roll”. Stefan Karlsson, who is behind the concept, has been partnering with Volvo for more than 20 years, catering at events, trade fairs and other functions, and providing specially composed menus aimed at enhancing the Volvo brand. He says that the long-term relationship has been a central source of inspiration for Ceno’s concept.
“We interpret both World and Volvo, where Volvo for us is very Nordic and Swedish, which is reflected in everything we do. The food and drinks will also bring elements from all over the globe to the table, to represent World,” says Stefan Karlsson.
Ceno is Götaplatsgruppen’s seventh restaurant in Gothenburg. The concept permeates all parts of World of Volvo and strives to create an atmosphere where both the city’s residents and international visitors can gather to enjoy a unique and dynamic culinary experience.
“The choice of raw materials is important for us. We will be working with seasonal menus a lot and try to source local produce whenever possible. Our cuisine will be based on the heritage of the Nordic region, with some international influences,” says Stefan Karlsson.
Focusing on quality and putting the ingredients centre stage, Ceno will offer everything from out-of-the-ordinary lunch buffets to elegant evening meals, as well as Swedish fika.
“The brasserie is the heart of the business, and we want to welcome everyone, whether they are here on business, families with children or vehicle enthusiasts. We will be presenting a varied menu that explores both Swedish and international flavours,” says Stefan Karlsson.
Ceno is also part of the conference offer at World of Volvo. Partly during the day, but also in the form of later evening activities, where it is possible, for example, to try wines from the restaurant's extensive wine list or make breaks in the programme for small gastronomic pauses, such as tasting chocolate or different types of oysters.
“We are delighted to have Götaplatsgruppen and Stefan Karlsson with us at World of Volvo. By offering a diverse and exciting culinary experience, we are looking forward to welcoming people and companies from all corners of the world,” says Magnus Wrahme, CEO of World of Volvo.
