World-unique underground sauna in the Adventure Mine

It’s now possible to experience a world-unique sauna in the heart of Dalarna, in centralSweden. As part of a guided tour, you can venture down into a disused mine to experience the newly opened sauna. You can also indulge in a mystical, atmospheric sauna ritual.

Taking a sauna is a classic Scandinavian tradition that has become increasingly popular in recent years. The refreshing cleansing ritual is appreciated by both Swedes and international visitors alike. Now Dalarna can also offer an extraordinary sauna experience.

The Adventure Mine in Borlänge has long been renowned for its awesome guided tours, where visitors can go down deep underground to the vast rock chambers. The tours also pass by the turquoise-blue underground Aurora Lakes, whose waters resemble the colours of the spectacular northern lights.

Now it will also be possible to bathe in the mine's crystal clear water during a guided sauna experience in the brand new sauna - which is 80 metres underground.

Walk and climb down stable stairways in the in the company of a guide. Get changed by the light of old mining lamps and sense the tide of history.

The experience becomes even more powerful thanks to the "Lady of the Mine sauna ritual", which is designed as a tribute to the being who, according to legend, is keeping watch over the mine. The ritual features various elements that stimulate and awaken the senses as the endorphins flow through the body.
