Biking Dalarna's destinations deliver a large selection of trails for a guaranteed great overall experience, regardless of whether you are a beginner or an expert. In addition to top-class cycling, there are accommodations with extra service for both you and your bike. A variety of activities, cultural experiences and good food and drink make your cycling vacation complete.

Biking Dalarna is a joint effort by destinations who offer quality cycling experiences. We guarantee common trail markings, a shared grading system for the trails and great accommodation and food service at the destinations. Here you can find a list of some of the best experiences:

1. Idre Fjäll Bikeland
Idre Fjäll Bikeland invites you to a magical experience in the mountain environment with its fantastic cycling trails and tracks. There is something for every cyclist, regardless of age or experience level. Stay at the hotel or rent a cottage or apartment - the choice is yours. With the option of both lift-assisted and muscle-powered cycling, you can choose the alternative that suits you best. Additionally, e-bikes are welcome on our cycling trails, making it even easier for everyone to discover and enjoy the beautiful nature. Here you will find top-class trails and tracks for all ages and levels. The trails run around Idre Fjäll in forest terrain, starting at the ski stadium. The stadium is centrally located, with a short cycling distance from the entire mountain.

2. Vasalopp Arena
The Vasalopp Arena goes from Sälen to Mora, through small mountain farms and sparsely grown pine forests. The first Sunday in March, it is filled with thousands of skiers. Vasaloppet is known as the world's largest cross-country ski race. During the summer months, you can experience the classic terrain on a bike. Follow gravel roads and well-trodden paths where generations of locals have traveled between villages. The surface is primarily gravel road or trail, and the environments and landscapes change along the way. At Tjärnheden sports field, a stone's throw from the village of Berga, two loops with varying characteristics await — one tailored for younger cyclists and the other for those seeking technical trail cycling with challenging climbs, including to the highest point of Vasaloppet, 528 meters above sea level. Eat and stay at genuine Mora Hotel & Spa or stay at the outdoor paradise Moraparken. Or in Sälen, you will find Olarsgården Hotell & Restaurant, all three offer storage for your bike.

3. Orsa Grönklitt
Here awaits bike adventures around every corner, right in the midst of the beautiful wilderness. Orsa Grönklitt is the perfect place for those who want to experience the joy of cycling, whether you're seeking exercise or a relaxed day with the family. There puts a lot of weight to make learning fun for the little ones, with plenty of activities that allow children to discover cycling in a playful manner, all while honing their skills. With the introduction of lift-assisted cycling starting in spring 2024, Orsa Grönklitt can offer mountain descent adventures while also extending the Flow Trail to the top of the mountain. Most of the trails are easy in difficulty but vary greatly in character. Some goes around the facility and nearby the lake "Rädsjön" and past charming huts. For those who want to feel the adrenaline flow a little extra, you'll experience a stomach-tickling adventure on the Flow Trail or when testing your cycling skills in the Skills Area.

4. Bjursås Berg & Sjö
In Bjursås, cycling adventures await that surprise and satisfy, regardless of your level of ambition and skill. Here, you can ride gravel or cross country on forest trails and gravel roads. There is a good variety of trails in diverse terrain and lengths suitable for both the experienced cyclist and the beginner. The cycling trails start from Bjursås Berg & Sjö, directly connected to cottages, camping and parking. Many of the trails pass by charming farms, summer pasture farms (fäbodar), and scenic viewpoints, making the cycling experience even more enriching. In addition to the six marked trails, there are also miles of paths offering even more cycling opportunities.

5. Säfsen Resort
In southern Dalarna lies Säfsen Resort, a family-friendly full-service facility that entices with proximity to wilderness-style nature, where you become one with the forest, vast fields, rolling mountains, and the magical silence. In Säfsen,you can stay in cottages or apartments and there is diverse cycling for all ages and preferences, ranging from a BMX track for the little ones to more advanced cycling. Regardless of speed and the goal of your cycling experience, remember to stop and enjoy the view during your vacation.

6. Falun, a world heritage site
The classic Lugnet in Falun, with its fantastic sports environment and a wide range of facilities, has evolved into a natural meeting place and arena for mountain biking. Here, well-maintained cross-country and downhill trails, as well as technical courses, challenge your skills, build both endurance and expertise. Lugnet is also an excellent starting point for cycling in the city of Falun, bestowed with the title of a World Heritage Site. From the bike saddle, you get close to all the historical landmarks. The Lugnet MTB trails start at the ski World Championship Arena and then extend into the Lugnet Nature Reserve, where cyclists are treated to a delightful mix of handcrafted trails, natural single-tracks, and scenic viewpoints. At the arena, there is also a bike playground and a skills course for technical training. At the World Heritage Site Falu Gruva, you can expect cycling that is completely unique and suitable for the whole family with all types of MTB bikes and to some extent gravel bikes. The trails wind through the exciting mining environment and pass many cultural-historical sites that have all been important for the mine and Falun. The cycling is relatively easy, but the further you venture into the World Heritage Site, the more challenging the trails become among slag heaps and lakes.

7. Mora
In Mora, exciting cycling experiences await. Navigate through fast, enjoyable, and easy-to-ride trails in a classic terrain with a distinct of a "Vasalopp feeling". In Mora, you can easily stay for several days, as there is a wide range of cultural experiences, excellent accommodation, and good food. Eat and stay at genuine Mora Hotel & Spa or stay at the outdoor paradise Moraparken. The trail cycling in Mora offers fast, enjoyable, and easy-to-ride trails. Most tours take place on small to medium-sized smooth trails, almost entirely free of stones. Four tours in a lovely slightly undulating terrain. Fun and easy-to-ride tracks. From the center, you can directly access the Vasaloppet Arena, which can take you all the way to Sälen.

8. Rättvik
Rättvik offers well-maintained trails in a breathtakingly beautiful valley environment. Rättvik has a lot to offer, even when it comes to culture, good accommodation, and delicious food. Feel free to stay a few extra days and explore the cycling trails in Mora, Orsa Grönklitt, and the Vasaloppsarena. Stay at the outdoor qualified hotels Gyllene Hornet in the beautiful village Tällberg offering scenic views over Lake Siljan, or Hotel Lerdalshöjden, situated in wonderful Rättvik, also with an astonishing view over lake Siljan. With everything you might possibly need close by.

9. Leksand and Siljansnäs
In Siljansnäs, just over ten kilometers from Leksand, there are four cross-country trails with varying terrain and occasionally stunning views of Lake Siljan. The different trails offer small adventures along paths and forest roads, through old-growth forests and cultural landscapes, with the reflection of Lake Siljan in almost every direction. Stay at family friendly Leksand Resort that is located in a beautiful natural environment right next to Lake Siljan, with a sandy beach, lovely green areas, magical lake views and a fantastic promenade that extends all the way to the charming Leksand. The facility is next door to Leksand Sommarland. Here, adventures await the whole family – a refreshing water park, dizzying slides, spinning merry-go-rounds and challenging action activities.

10. Sälen and Rörbäcksnäs
Sälen and the Sälen mountains are a real mecca for cyclists. With several well-known, professional areas such as Lindvallen, Kläppen, the Vasalopp arena and Rörbäcksnäs, the Sälen mountains are an obvious choice for anyone who wants to head out and explore on two wheels. At Olarsgården Hotell & Restaurant, you can gather strength for tomorrow's outdoor activities, enjoy delicious food in the restaurant, or relax in the lounge in front of the crackling fireplace.
