Imagine a place where you can run barefoot through the grass and dive into inviting lakes. Enjoy bright summer nights and quiet mornings, rolling mountains, deep forests, untouched meadows and charming villages with red wooden houses. Experiencing a Scandinavian summer is something truly magical. In Dalarna, you will find a lot of fantastic adventures that will make your vacation memorable. Here we are listing activities that will fulfill your adventurous summer in Sweden.

1. Rösjöstugorna and EcoAdventure Fulufjället
Fulufjället mountains and national park is known for it´s untouched nature and stunning views. Hiking in the untouched nature is an amazing experience. In Fulufjället National Park you have trails to follow. The views are spectacular. All year has it´s charm and the autumn with all the colours are just out of this world. When hiking make sure to visit 9550 year old Old Tjikko, the oldest tree in the world and here you will also find the highest waterfall in Sweden: Njupeskär. Both bird life and vegetation is unique at this spot. It has survived in the rugged mountain conditions which makes it even more worth a visit. End your day trip in the sauna later in the evening. To avoid the crowds at Fulufjället, plan your visit from late August onwards. Rösjöstugorna and Eco Adventure are part of Nature's Best, a quality mark recognized by GSTC, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s international criteria for sustainable tourism.

2. Idre Fjäll
Popular Idre Fjäll has been around for 60 years and has evolved from a ski resort to a center for year-round experiences. The summer season offers many types of exciting activities wether you travel alone, with friends or with children. The unique mountain terrain can be explored by foot, on horseback or by bike. Try an exciting high-altitude course, go on a beaver safari or learn about the Sami culture with its crafts, music, reindeer husbandry and great knowledge of nature. Go on a guided fishing trip or meet reindeer - there is something for everyone. Enjoy a cozy breakfast together and then the adventure of nature awaits right outside the door. The tranquility you encounter in the mountains is hard to find anywhere else. Here, silence is combined with the roar of the rapids and the song of the birds. From the beautiful hiking trails around Idre, Särna and Grövelsjön you can enjoy magnificent views in four directions with reindeer in the distance as your only company.

3. Scandinavia Adventure Travels - guided hiking tours
Dalarna offers many miles of trails waiting to be explored. Hiking is a wonderful way to enjoy the great outdoors, get close to nature and, above all, spend time together. Together with a guide you will find the hidden gems and get around safely. Scandinavia Adventure Travels has its base of operations in northern Dalarna's mountains and forest area. The experienced guides are certfied Swedish mountainleaders.

4. Orsa Grönklitt
The blue mountains above Lake Orsa provide a magnificent backdrop for summer adventures. Exciting outdoor experiences awaits in Orsa Grönklitt. The trails wind through forests and over mountains, inviting you to explore both on foot and by bike. For the little adventurers there are playful activities like geocaching where exciting treasures are waiting to be discovered. Or explore nature on children's terms. For those who would like to relax between adventures, the sauna raft is a relaxing experience where you can watch the beautiful lake from the sauna. Or why not take a quiet trip on the lake in a canoe?

5. Säfsen Resort
In Säfsen you can stay in a cottage or apartment and enjoy activities that create unforgettable memories and exciting adventures for the whole family. Regardless of the season, alpine skiing, cycling, hiking, fishing and other adventures are close at hand. Säfsen is located in a valley surrounded by mountains, large forests and many lakes, this makes cycling and hiking ideal. In winter you can stay comfortably in an apartment by the ski slopes with unique ski in, ski out location.

6. Kloten Nature Resort

At Sjösidan Falun by Främby udde, Human by Nature has one of Sweden's largest canoe centres, with various models of kayaks, canoes and SUP boards. 8. More Activities
More Activities offer experiences in Sälen, the northern part of Dalarna, both winter and summer for families and adventurers. In summer, guided tours with packrafts and adventure taxis are offered, as well as mountain bike rentals of various types. Try mountain biking on world-famous bike trails or paddling packraft on fantastic waters. Packrafting is just as exciting for beginners as for those with previous experience. The flexible paddle boats work just as well in calm waters as in rapids and the guide will help you along the way. Get on a real adventure!

9. Lövåsgården
Lövåsgården's high location, by the tree line, offers a magnificent view of the Norwegian mountains to the west. Here you stay in a cozy hotel with full board in Grövelsjön in the most northern part of the Dalarna region. The proximity to the mountain, with ski tracks and hiking trails that start outside the door, makes the conditions good for a wonderful mountain holiday. Here you will find the wilderness around the corner and the opportunity for fantastic nature experiences during your day trips. As a full-board guest, you have free access to relax with a hot tub & sauna, before rounding off the day with a good three-course dinner and perhaps a moment in front of the fire in the log cabin.

10. Kajaktiv
During the summer, Dalarna attracts visitors seeking unique adventures. Kajaktiv's courses are designed to appeal to a wide audience, offering a special experience. For tranquil and scenic adventures, try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) or sea kayaking in the beautiful lakes Malingarna. For the more adventurous, try whitewater paddling experiences ranging from half a day to two days. You can navigate the rapids with your children for four hours or take a two-day whitewater paddling course. The course center in Dala-Floda is conveniently located near the stunning rapid Lissforsen.
