USTC appoints new Vice President from within own ranks

On June 1st, 2023, Jonas Søndergård assumed the role of Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs at United Shipping & Trading Company (USTC). Jonas Søndergård already knows his way around USTC, as he has been heading up USTC Group Communications, where he has been responsible for developing both external and internal communication for USTC and its subsidiaries.

Today, the family-owned Group consists of well-known companies such as Bunker Holding, SDK FREJA, Uni-Tankers, Selected Car Group, CM Biomass, and Unit IT. USTC is headquartered in Middelfart, Denmark, and operates out of 140 offices with more than 4,000 employees worldwide. USTC’s equity stands at over DKK 4 billion and a turnover of more than DKK 120 billion in the last financial year.

Jonas Søndergård has played a central role in building the communication function in USTC and has spearheaded the development of internal and external communication channels, processes, and structures for USTC and the Group’s subsidiaries. He is a close advisor to both the ownership and senior leadership in the USTC companies.

As strategic communications is of growing importance for the Group, USTC has chosen to put even more weight behind the function by promoting Jonas Søndergård to Vice President.

Jonas Søndergård's broad experience from both national and international companies provides the necessary ballast to take the company's communication ambitions and public affairs to the next level.

Jonas Søndergård holds a Master’s degree in Media Studies from the University of Aarhus and has held various international communications roles in Arla, LEGOLAND, and the LEGO Group among others. His career has also brought him to the United States, where he was Vice President of Communications in the world's largest dairy group, Dairy Farmers of America.
