Two spots on the podium for TeXtreme® in World Solar Challenge

In the recently finished World Solar Challenge that took place through the Australian Outback two teams, Nuon Solar Team and UM Solar, using TeXtreme® Spread Tow Reinforcements reached the podium.

Nuon Solar Team from Delft University finished second and University of Michigan based UM Solar finished in third position in the 2011 competitions.

It was a very tight race with the top three teams finishing within three hours time, Nuon Solar Team and UM Solar slightly after Japan based team Tokai from Tokai University.

Tokai University’s car Tokai Challenger travelled 2998 km in 32 hours and 45 minutes with an average speed of 91.54 km/h.

Nuon Solar Teams car Nuna 6 travelled 2998 km in 33 hours and 50 minutes with an average speed of 88.60 km/h.

UM Solar’s car Quantum travelled the same stretch on 2998 km in 35 hours 33 minutes with an average speed of 84.33 km/h.

TeXtreme® enters World Solar Challenge

TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabrics has been used by two well-reputed teams competing in the 2011 World Solar Challenge. UM Solar at University of Michigan, USA, and four-time winners Nuon Solar Team at Delft University, Netherlands, have both used TeXtreme® to reduce weight of their solar cars.

DSM and TeXtreme® helping Nuna7 to Win the World Solar Challenge

UM Solar wins 7th National Championship

UM solar team from University of Michigan in July 2012 won their 7th National Championship and 4th consecutive victory. The team competed with their TeXtreme® featured car Quantum which was also used in the latest World Solar Challenge (WSC) in Australia.

Jackpot for TeXtreme® teams in World Solar Challenge

The 2013 World Solar Challenge ended with victories for TeXtreme® sponsored teams in both the Challenger class and Michelin Cruiser Class. In the GoPro Adventure Class a second place was collected.
