Shazam Launches Promo with UK Indie Band The Wombats
London, UK – 31 March, 2011 - Shazam®, the world’s leading mobile discovery company, today announced a major new promo with The Wombats in conjunction with the launch of their new album, “The Wombats Proudly Present ... This Modern Glitch.” The promotion includes a chance to see the band perform live at their Sala Apolo show in Barcelona, Spain, on 21 May as well as get a free download of their single, “Jump Into the Fog” and other prizes.
To Shazam the unique track for an opportunity to see The Wombats in concert, fans are invited to visit www.wombatizer.com and “Wombatize” their favourite websites. The Wombatizer reskins the chosen website with a new layout featuring hidden images for visitors to find. Visitors simply scratch off the image to reveal new content such as a chance to go to the concert, an opportunity to win tickets to the album launch party in London, download a free song, and win other prizes.
To enter the contest to see The Wombats in Spain:
- Go to www.wombatizer.com
- Enter the URL for your favourite website, which will take you to a “Wombatized” version of that site
- Use your mouse to scratch off the surface of any image on the site, revealing an image asking you to “click here”
- Look for the underlying image that asks you to “Shazam the track” to receive a unique promo code, then enter the code, your name, e-mail address, and country of residence to enter the competition
