The Most Shazamed Songs of 2017 Revealed

It’s that time of year again, when we reveal the most Shazamed tracks of 2017!

Ed Sheeran unmistakably took Sia’s crown from last year with “Shape of You,” the most Shazamed track in 2017 globally and in the Pop category. Sheeran is also the most Shazamed artist in the world in 2017.

Among the artists who made their way onto the list for the second year in a row: Justin Bieber, featured on “Despacito” from Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee; The Chainsmokers with “Something Just Like This” feat. Coldplay; The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk with “I Feel It Coming” as the most Shazamed R&B/Soul track; Sam Hunt with “Body Like A Back Road” in the Country category; and Coldplay thanks to their dance track “Something Just Like This” with The Chainsmokers.

“In many ways “Shape Of You” defined 2017,” said Julian Marshall, Global Head Of Content. “It spent fourteen weeks at the top of our Worldwide Chart after its release in January and it is still in our Top 40 today.

“This year will also be remembered for the rise of Latin music, led by ‘Despacito’. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s track was already seeing a strong Shazam reaction before Justin Bieber jumped on the remix - bringing it to a new audience. In total, a Latin track was at the top of our Worldwide Chart for 24 weeks in 2017.”
