Nobel Week Dialogue to be hosted by the city of Gothenburg in 2013

Nobel Media has entered into a collaboration with the region of Västra Götaland and the city of Gothenburg (via its company Göteborg & Co) regarding the Nobel Week Dialogue, a unique conference involving Nobel Laureates, world renowned scientists, key policy makers, opinion leaders and an engaged public. The region and the city of Gothenburg will host the Nobel Week Dialogue in 2013.

“Our ambition is to share the unique expertise which is available during Nobel Week and create engagement in the Nobel Prize related activities across regional boundaries,” says Lars Heikensten, Executive Director of the Nobel Foundation. “We are delighted to cooperate with such strong representatives for Gothenburg and the region of Västra Götaland.”

Nobel Week Dialogue is a new element within the official program for Nobel Week.  The goal of the conference is to foster discussion at the highest level on a topical, science-related theme. Nobel Week Dialogue 2012 will focus on the theme of genetics and takes place on 9 December in Stockholm.

Nobel Week Dialogue välkomnar Göteborg 2013 

Nobel Media har inlett ett samarbete med Västra Götalandsregionen och Göteborgs Stad via dess bolag Göteborg & Co kring Nobel Week Dialogue. Samarbetet innebär att regionen tar hand om värdskapet för konferensen 2013.

-       Vår strävan är att dela med oss av den unika kompetens som samlas under Nobelveckan och skapa ett större engagemang kring de Nobelprisrelaterade aktiviteterna över de regionala gränserna, säger Lars Heikensten, vd Nobelstiftelsen. Därför är vi mycket glada över det nya samarbetet med så starka företrädare för Göteborg och Västra Götalandsregionen.  

Nobel Week Dialogue är en ny programpunkt under Nobelveckan med syfte att skapa ett årligen återkommande vetenskaplig konferens och fördjupa dialogen mellan Nobelpristagare, ledande forskare och vetenskapsmän, opinionsbildare och en engagerad allmänhet. Den första konferensen med temat genetik äger rum på Stockholm City Conference, den 9 december.
