Reduced evening service at London Euston as overhead line repairs continue

Press release -

Reduced evening service at London Euston as overhead line repairs continue

Passengers at London Euston are being advised to check their journeys this evening (Monday) as a reduced service remains in operation while overhead line repairs continue.

Network Rail engineers worked through the night on Sunday evening to begin repairing a large stretch of damaged wires at South Kenton, near Wembley Stadium. However, due to the extent of the damage, further work is required tonight, meaning some lines out of Euston will close from 9pm.

London Northwestern Railway passengers are advised to check their journeys before travelling and to use alternative routes if possible as trains are expected to be very busy.

Journey planners will be updated with latest travel information for any affected journeys tonight and on Tuesday morning. Customers can stay up to date by visiting www.lnr.uk/plan

Lawrence Bowman, customer experience director for London Northwestern Railway, said: "We apologise to our customers for any delays to their journeys while Network Rail continue to repair this large section of damaged overhead wires. Passengers are advised to check their journeys before travelling and to consider using alternative routes if possible."

Any passengers delayed by 15 minutes or more as a result of the disruption can claim compensation by visiting www.lnr.uk/delayrepay
