Thule Adventure Teams dominate Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge

Thule Adventure Teams win the Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge – one of the world’s toughest endurance races! On Wednesday December 15 they reached the finish after a six-day battle competing with 50 teams from around the world.

Thule Adventure Teams crossed the finishing line in 2010 Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge as number one and number two after six long days in the desert country, leaving all competitors behind. After the initial adventure triathlon, the Thule Adventure Teams have beaten all the other teams in running, mountain biking, desert trekking and sea kayaking. And all along the Thule Adventure Teams have kept the first and the second position in the race.

Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge is regarded as the world’s premier adventure race, attracting 50 teams of multisport athletes from about 20 countries. The conditions in the desert country are tough with high temperatures, blazing sun and strong winds. On desert roads, in sand dunes, on mountains and on the sea the multisport teams have competed using their strength, endurance and technique, but also their tactical skills.

Thule Adventure Team’s captain Martin Flinta was part of the team that ended up second: ”We were the second team to reach the finish, after our team members who came first. We’re very pleased with our effort! Our second place is well-deserved and our position was never threatened by the third team.”
