Indie Survival Hit Valheim to Release on Mac, available June 10th on the Mac App Store

SKÖVDE, Sweden – June 4, 2024 - Coffee Stain Publishing and Iron Gate are excited to announce that their hit viking survival game Valheim, currently in Early Access, will be launching on Mac via the Mac App Store on June 10th. Players across the world will soon be able to experience the legendary 10th viking realm on Mac as Valheim comes to yet another platform following its Xbox launch in 2023.

Valheim is a game of brutal exploration and survival for 1-10 players set in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by viking culture developed by Iron Gate, an indie studio based in Sweden, and published by Coffee Stain Publishing, the team behind other hit titles such as Deep Rock Galactic and Satisfactory. The game is currently sitting at 94% Very Positive on Steam with over 385,000 positive reviews, and received critical acclaim across the board on its Early Access release.

Since its meteoric 2021 Early Access launch, Valheim has seen an array of major updates, from the Hearth & Home content drop that saw multiple parts of the game expanded, to the enigmatic Mistlands update that brought with it a new biome shrouded in impenetrable fog and a magic system to master. Most recently, Iron Gate have released a fiery new biome update in the form of the Ashlands, redefining what difficulty means in Valheim as the game gets ready for its 1.0 release which will add the final endgame destination called the Deep North.

“Valheim is best experienced when adventuring alongside your friends.” said Henrik Törnqvist, co-founder of Iron Gate. “We’re excited to bring Valheim to yet another platform and cannot wait to welcome new vikings as they experience our game for the first time.”

Valheim is currently available on PC, Linux and Xbox through Steam Early Access Microsoft Store and Game Pass and soon on Mac via the Mac App Store. You can find the official Valheim press kit here, and you can follow Valheim on Twitter and Discord for more information and updates. The key art above can be downloaded here.
