Gritty Extraction Dungeon Crawler ‘Dungeonborne’ Demo Now Available, Part of Steam Next Fest

Experience a unique spin on first-person strategic combat as you risk it all in an open alpha of this new PvPvE fantasy dungeon crawler.

February 2nd, 2024 - Development studio Mithril Interactive are pleased to announce that a demo of their upcoming PvPvE dungeon crawler Dungeonborne will be available for all players to play during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. The open alpha will go live on February 2nd and remain available through Steam Next Fest up until February 12th, offering adventurers a chance to test their mettle and venture into gothic halls and dungeons in search of treasure and power.

You can watch the official gameplay trailer featuring expanded tactical combat, class synergy and collaborative team battles here.

Dungeonborne is a recently revealed PvPvE dungeon crawler in which players band together in small groups or play solo to seek treasure on the backdrop of a gritty gothic setting. The traditional dungeon crawling experience is further enhanced by features outside of the established genre such as the all-or-nothing extraction mechanic offering players an option to stay in the game longer at the risk of losing it all should they perish, or the ever shrinking safezone characteristic of the battle royale genre.

The open alpha, available between February 2nd 10:00 PST/19:00 CET - February 12th 10:00 PST/19:00 CET, will feature:

  • Seven player classes, from the traditional Rogue, Priest and Fighter to the more specialised Cryomancer, Pyromancer, Swordmaster and Death Knight
  • Sinner’s End, a multiplayer map set in a dark prison full of treacherous twists and turns
  • Clouseau Castle, a solo map lined with gothic spires and shadows lurking at each and every step
  • Arena, a Team Deathmatch mode that pits groups of three players against each other in bloody combat
  • Human and undead races as well as expanded character customisation, with more playable races available once the game releases

For the duration of the Dungeonborne demo, players will also have a chance to obtain exclusive cosmetic items available only during the demo that will carry over to the full release version of the game. Additionally, a ‘Dungeonborne Streamer Challenge’ event will also go live on February 2nd, offering in-game rewards and other prizes for players and content creators who choose to connect their Twitch accounts and join in on the event.

For more information on the open alpha, feel free to follow the game on Discord, Youtube, Twitter and the official website. The official Dungeonborne press kit can be found here, and relevant assets for the Steam Next Fest demo can be found here.
