Ghost Ship Games and MOOD Publishing announce two new Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game expansions coming to Kickstarter

Following its initial launch in 2022, Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game is introducing two expansion packs to Kickstarter, bringing all-new challenges for players to encounter with hazardous new locations, deadly new enemies, and new ways to play

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, September 19, 2023 - Ghost Ship Games and MOOD Publishing have today revealed a Kickstarter campaign for two new expansions for the board game adaptation of Deep Rock Galactic. Set to run from September 28 until October 16, the Kickstarter campaign introduces brand-new Biome and Space Rig expansions, bringing new obstacles, enemies, and biomes for miners to overcome on tabletop.

The first of these two expansions is Biome, where players can explore four new biomes packed with hazards and enemies, before trying their hand on the Eliminate mission. In a bid to search and destroy the hostile Dreadnought before these creatures take miners down, players will face a series of Dreadnought cards until they have defeated the enemies and have brought an end to the action-packed chaos.

The Space Rig expansion offers something different to Biome, bringing campaign modes with multiple mission types and new ways to upgrade loadouts to the game. Included is Escort Duty, as players leave the comfort of the Space Rig, on a mission to guide the Drilldozer through the mines and retrieve the invaluable Ommoran Heartstone. However it’s never that easy and every dig has its risks. Players will find themselves protecting this drilling machine at all costs, confronting each of the new obstacles that arise via a special Ommoran event deck.

Once that mission is completed, it’s onto the next one in the Space Rig expansion. On-Site Refining brings another technical challenge to overcome. Miners will need to install a mobile refinery across three wells of liquid morkite. Once up and running, however, the real work begins, ensuring smooth operations and refinery repairs as creatures attack the pipes.
